Michael Cassette - Through The Windows

With interest in the mysterious producer peaking thanks to his critically acclaimed 'Temporarity' album, Michael Cassette continues to take us through the portals of time with his retro-futurist 80's-inspired house sounds. Accomplished, infectious and uplifting, 'Through The Windows' is the second single to be taken from the album, and is a feel-good, synth-driven anthem that sees Michael Cassette working in a vocal dimension to show his sound can continue to progress and diversify.

Marcus Maison, another highly talented studio talent from the seemingly never-ending production line of Finnish innovators, crafts a more club-smashing, housey rework that embeds a euphoric, loopy piano line but stays true to the 80s ethos of the original at the same time. The package includes aslo remixes from Dutch techmeister Stephen J. Kroos, Gerhard Saturnus and drum & bass legend John B. The EP was released 1/3/2011 through Anjunadeep and you can buy it on betaport.

Canyon Boulevard - Little By Little (Michael Cassette Remix)

Jamie Kuse is a producer based out of Vancouver, Canada. With over 10 years in the studio and hundreds of credits to his name, he works in all genres of music. Canyon Boulevard is a side project of him and 'Little By Little' is the first release in over a year now. The features a stunning remix from proggressive house heavyweights Michael Cassette (Erkka Henrikki Lempiäinen & Matti Tapio Heininen ), who is the mysterious music duo from Finland. Michael Cassette makes no contact with his audience except through his music. It was released 15/2/2011 though Neon Element Recordings and you can support it on beatport.

Michael Cassette - Memories (90's Piano Mix)

Michael Cassette's recent single 'Ghost In The Machine' managed to attract the applause of Deadmau5 who said "I haven't felt this good to a piece of music since Eric Prydz's 'Melo' - 10/10". A hard act to follow, but the Finnish producer has again surpassed his own high standards with his latest single 'Memories'.

For many, the lead track on this EP is the boundlessly uplifting, nostalgic '90s Piano Mix'. Originally featured as the iTunes bonus track on Michael Cassette's debut album 'Temporarity', the huge buzz around the track warranted its own release - having already won Webvote winner on Above & Beyond's radio show.

Bringing some warm waves of upbeat emotion into the cold winter months, the '90s Piano Mix' of Memories is already destined to be a huge hit throughout 2011. The forumla is simple. Take one fat, funky rolling electronic groove, add in a huge piano house melody and watch the main room fireworks go off with a bang. However, as always with Michael Cassette, the production is deeply complex with cosmic flourishes, a futuristic finish, clever drops and many twists and turns on this uplifting cruise. Included as the a-side is the previously unheard original mix of 'Memories'. A dreamy, more downtempo electronic track that further cements Cassette's position as a producer of serious pedigree. Release Date: 18th January 2011.

Michael Cassette - My Name Is Michael Cassette +1

Michael Cassette is the infamous 80s-inspired electronic producer who chooses anonymity over publicity. He seeks refuge in his studio, basking in the bright, neon sparkle of retro synths and soaking up the warm embrace of classic analogue grooves. Michael Cassette has his bedut album on Anjunadeep Records, which is called 'Temporarity' and all the tracks are amazing.

Nevertheless I have keen interest for two tracks of the album, the first is the progressive cosmic boogie openning track of the album 'My Name Is Michael Cassette'. The second is 'Ghost In The Machine', which was the leading single from the album and is a perfect example of Cassette’s well-honed union of bright 80s-styled synths, immaculate colour loaded arrangement and tight electronic grooves. The Official Music Video of 'Ghost In The Machine' is already available on youtube.

The album was released on the 29th of November 2010 and you can buy it on beatport.
