The Ones You Love (DJ Meme Remix)
Taking a track already brimming with quality, DJ Meme injects even more soul than before into this modern-day vocal house anthem. Soaring, beautiful strings and a classic house piano riff anyone? Yep, we thought you’d like that. The original production of 'The Ones You Love' is from The Shapeshifters, the top UK production outfit, and Frankie Knuckles, who is the godfather of house and garage, featuring the vocal skills of Jenna G. It was released 9/2/2011 through Nocturnal Groove Digital and you can buy it on defected.Friday, 4 February 2011

Nocturnal Grooves Vol.3: Mixed By Pookie
With two successful volumes of the Nocturnal Grooves compilation series under their belt, the Shapeshifters have passed the baton onto fellow label artist Pookie from Serbia to give his own unique twist to this catalogue mix. Highlighting a selection of the tracks that have been released on the label throughout 2010, this compilation features productions and remixes from the likes of The Shapeshifters, Candi Staton, Gramophonedzie, Danism, Alias Rhythm, Jason Chance, Dave Floyd & Pookie, Miss Divine & Jon Kong, Doman & Gooding, Roy Mclaren and StereoSoulSystem. So get ready for 'Nocturnal Grooves Vol.3: Mixed By Pookie'.
So I picked my four favourite tunes from the compilation and I'm sharing them with you. The first is a wicked remix back from 2008 by the label onwers for We Deliver's song 'Supernatural. The second is again from The Shapeshifters, a classic re-work of 'Candi Staton - Musical Freedom' with big piano keys and soaring strings. In the third track Alias Rythm teamed up with cohort Sandy Spady to deliver this solid house tune and for the end Jason Chance's debut release 'Head Shake' on Noctural Groove Digital from last July with strong beats and slammin synths combined with a techy twisted hook.
The compilation was released 13/12/2010 and please buy any track that you like on beatport.
